Fans are outraged with singer/song writer Pharrell Williams for the artwork of his latest project, “Girl.” According to the singer this is his way of paying homage to women. Well if you have not seen the album cover by now, it displays 3 women in bathrobes standing on side of him with sunglass on. The only problem with the cover is that none of the women are of african american descent.
In a radio interview Pharell did with the Breakfast Klub defending his album cover he points out that the woman he is standing close to is a black woman.
That really disappointed me is that, man, they jumped the gun,” he said in the interview. “She’s a black girl from Wisconsin I used to date over 10 years ago, maybe 12 years ago.”
You can check out “Girl” when it hits stores March 3, 2014.
